I had a DVD reader on my laptop, but it was erased when my laptop's hard drive was erased. It still plays DVDs, but only under VLC Media Player, not under Windows Media Player, so Movie Maker won't edit my videos. So are there any free video edit programs that I can download from the internet? I want a cropper most of all. Or if anyone knows how to rip segments from DVDs with VLC that would work, too. I've tried, but it loops on the menu for me. I use DVD decrypter to rip my DVDs. I have AudioGK, too, but I noticed I don't need it to get volume. Does AudioGK reformat it into a file I can use with Movie Maker? I haven't completed a process with it yet, but I noticed the comptest files work with Movie Maker.
