Im having trouble with economics movie assignment.. Im a esl student so i don't really know what they are exactly trying to say in the movie..
We watched the movie "The corporation".I need help someone watched this movie before..plz.. due date is tmrw..
These were our questions
1.The film indicates that in the mid-1800s the corporation emerged as a legal "person."Throughout the film the subjects interviewed argued that the corporation exhibits the personality traits of a psychopath. Explain this point of view, giving specific examples.
2.The profit motive is the main motivation of all corporations. In the film, the former CEO and chairman of GoodYear Tire explains: "If you really had a free hand, if you really did what you wanted to do that suited your personal thoughts and your priorities, you'd act differently. "Do you think the individual (i.e CEO, members of board of directers , shareholders) or the institution.(i.e corporation as a whole) should be held responsible for "countless cases of illness , death , poverty, exploitation and lies"? Would economic concerns change your answer?
3.Explain using specific examples how the corporation demonstrates the importance of goverment control in certain industries.
4.As seen in the film, modern day corporations have made it possible for people to become brands (ie Martha Stewart), for students to live "corporately sponsered"lives, and one corporation has even come to own the rights to the song "Happy birthday" What are the implications of this for us as consumers? How might this affect our economic freedom?
5. The documentary has a clear bias AGAINST corporations. What positive outcomes have resulted from the development of corporations ? What can we do to ensure that the benefits of corporations will one day out weigh the negative impacts on our economy? These are the questions for my assignment..
can you solve these questions??plz...
or if you can't get this questions can you tell me where is this video with korean subtitle or english subtitle..?
