What to Do When You Find a Stain on Your Merino Wool Products

Monday 20 October 2008 @ 4:02 am

No matter how careful with our belongings we may be, there is always the risk of something untoward happening. This is especially true when it comes to the clothes we wear. You can be as careful of the fabric of your clothing as is possible, but sometimes, you can’t help but put a stain on your clothes.

Don’t Panic, It Can be Done

If in fact, one of your merino wool belongings gets stained, there are very easy ways to get them out without compromising the fabric. As long as you care for your merino wool products the way the manufacturers recommend, getting rid of stains may be easier than it would be if it was made of any other fabric. Taking care of your merino wool will ensure that your initial investment of a few dollars can take care of you and your family for many years to come.

• Blood - Whether it comes from a new tooth or it comes from a meeting between head and hard surfaces, blood may be one of the most difficult stains to remove. When you are dealing with merino wool, you can remove the stain quickly and easily. Work your way from the outside to the inside and blot gently. You want to keep the stain from spreading any further, so do not rub the stain. Use a soft, clean rag that is dampened with cold water to work the stain.

• Burns - If one of your guests inadvertently burns or scorches your merino wool upholstery or rug, the first order of business is to brush the ashes, burn or scorch marks with a soft brush before you begin to try and clean it. Once you have removed the offending material, gently soak a piece of material in peroxide and water and gently dab the affected area. Remember not to rub, as this may spread the stain further.

• Butter and Oils - If you drop anything on your wool that is oil based, the first thing you should do is to scoop as much of the offending gunk off as possible. These stain producers may be ice cream, salad dressing, butter, or any oils used for cooking.

• Red Wine - This can be the one stain that most people fear. Red wine can stain quickly and easily. When you have a merino wool product that has been splashed with red wine, you should immediately blot the stain and cover with a substance that is absorbent such as talcum powder or salt. Leave it to absorb overnight, and then vacuum the next day.

Time is of The Essence

The highest success rates of removing stains from merino wool as with any fabric is speed. It is said that if you treat 9 out of 10 spots immediately and with the proper cleaning methods, you can remove them without anyone ever knowing they were there. If you have fine merino wool products in your closet and the rest of your home as well, keeping an emergency kit for unexpected stains can go a long way in enjoying your belongings for a long time to come.

Locate Hidden Assets- How to do an Asset Search

Sunday 19 October 2008 @ 8:13 pm

As a private investigator you may be asked to perform an asset search or an asset locate. This is when one person or business entity needs to determine the assets of another person. This would include bank accounts, real estate, businesses and much more.

There are many reasons why the client needs the asset search. It could be a divorce where one spouse suspects the other is hiding wealth or community property. It could be a business partner or investor. It could be a creditor that is ready to file a lawsuit and wants to know if it’s worth the effort.

If the debtor has nothing no sense in proceeding with the suit. Can’t get blood from a stone as they say.

How to perform an asset search?

Begin your search by delving into these records sources:

Court Records - Bankruptcy, Liens and Judgments - County Court House

Business Licensing - County Court House

Power Of attorney

Divorce proceedings records - State Vital Statistics

UCC filings - Secretary of State’s Office

Corporation Records - Secretary of State’s Office

Motor vehicle information - State DMV

Trusts

Probate records - State Probate Records

Real Property Records - Assessors Office - County Court House

Be cautious when performing an asset search. In 1999 new laws were passed that made pretexting financial institutions a crime. You can no longer call a financial institutions and pretend to be the account holder to obtain the account holders information.

Wikipedia describes pretexting as :

Pretexting (sometimes referred to as “social engineering”) occurs when someone tries to gain access to personal nonpublic information without proper authority to do so. This may entail requesting private information while impersonating the account holder, by phone, by mail, by email, or even by “phishing” (i.e., using a “phony” website or email to collect data). The GLBA encourages the organizations covered by the GLBA to implement safeguards against pretexting. For example, a well-written plan designed to meet GLBA’s Safeguards Rule (”develop, monitor, and test a program to secure the information”) ought[citation needed] to include a section on training employees to recognize and deflect inquiries made under pretext. In fact, the evaluation of the effectiveness of such employee training probably should include a follow-up program of random spot-checks, “outside the classroom”, after completion of the [initial] employee training, in order to check on the resistance of a given (randomly chosen) student to various types of “social engineering” — perhaps even designed to focus attention on any new wrinkle that might have arisen after the [initial] effort to “develop” the curriculum for such employee training. Under United States law, pretexting by individuals is punishable as a common law crime of False Pretenses.

However there are many perfectly legal methods to obtain this information. You are still able to use the normal investigative techniques routinely used uin any investigation. Interviews, surveillance, dumpster diving, database searches and sources (tipsters and informants).

Many times an investigator you’ll be working on a complex case and in the course of your investigation you mat need an asset search. In many cases it may be wise to outsource the asset search part of the investigation to another investigator that routinely performs these type of investigation.

Ed Opperman is President of Opperman Investigations. If you need assistance with an asset search please visit his web site http://www.emailrevealer.com/. He offers asset searches as well and background reports and current employment locates.

The Sun Protection Survival Guide

Saturday 18 October 2008 @ 10:06 pm

Not surprisingly, sun protection is something all Americans are paying close attention to these days. Sky rocketing skin cancer rates, and rising UV Index averages are just two reasons protecting your skin from the sun can no longer be neglected. Fact: The sun is much stronger than it was just 15 years ago.

Fact: Skin cancer is on the rise, especially amongst men and women under 35 years old. This article is intended to provide simple, easy, effective lifestyle changing tips to protect you and your family from the sun. Our motto: Make it a habit!

Dermatologists are recommending that sun block be applied every day, whenever outdoors. Research shows you don’t have to get repeated bad sunburns to get skin cancer. Prolonged sun exposure over time can lead to skin cancer without ever having bad sunburns. Sun Survival tip # 1 - Make it a daily habit and apply sunscreen each morning before you and your kids leave the house. Don’t forget the commonly neglected hands, ears, back of the neck, and shoulders. These parts of your body get the most sun exposure but are too often forgotten.

Sun Survival tip #2 - Invest in sun protection clothing. Did you know a t-shirt only has an SPF of 5? That is only blocking about 10% of the sun’s damaging UV rays. A rashguard is an athletic fitting shirt made from lycra and nylon. Used originally by surfers and divers under their wetsuits, rash guard shirts from online stores like thebeachdepot.com offer SPF 150+ total sun protection.

These surf shirts are extremely popular with outdoor enthusiasts due to the stylish, durable construction, and UV protection demanded by today’s active people. Rashguards are excellent for snorkeling, boating, rash guards for working out, the list goes on and on. And “Hey parents,” affordable rash guards do not wash off like sun block making them an effective and economical choice for sun protection. Kid’s rashguards, rash guards for toddlers, and even baby swim shirts are available for your family members. Make it a habit to wear sun protective shirts at the beach, pool, soccer game, or any outdoor activity.

Sun Survival tip #3 - Protect your eyes. The sun is just as damaging to your eyes as your skin. Sunglasses should be worn at all times when outdoors. Make sure they are dark enough to reduce glare and have a UV rating. Children should wear sunglasses too. Make it a habit, get you and your family wearing sunglasses now!

Sun Survival tip #4 - Cover up the noggin. Yes, wear a hat. Whether you’re doing yard work, golfing, or surfing, we recommend wearing a hat in the direct sunlight. Not only will this help keep your face wrinkle-free (nobody likes pre-mature aging), you will ensure the most vulnerable part of your body is protected. I know a woman (we’ll give her an alias “Susan”) who looks like a leather wallet. Her dinosaur-like skin is the result of years of sun exposure without proper protection (the years of chain smoking probably don’t help either). The lesson here, “Don’t be a Susan!” Wear a hat and ensure the most vulnerable part of your body is protected from the sun.

Okay, just like oral hygiene or weight loss, to be successful sun protection needs to be a part of your daily routine. These simple tips: apply sun block on a daily basis, buy a rash guard swim shirt, wear sunglasses, and a hat. Make it your habit!

Justin Laubscher is co-owner of The Beach Depot, an excellent online store specializing in high quality rashguards and swim shirts. He recently launched My Surf DVDS, another popular web store that carries a huge selection of dvd surfing titles.

CCTV Security Cameras: Policing the Police

Saturday 18 October 2008 @ 7:37 pm

Two Colliding Sides

When the public was told that the presence of CCTV security cameras in public areas was meant to prevent crime and send police running to apprehend offenders. There was little thought on the influence these security cameras would have on the police and the possibility of using those recordings as evidence of police brutality when filing a complaint against erring officers.

The police have two views on CCTV security cameras. One camp deems the gadgets useful in promoting professional conduct when handcuffing drunks, petty criminals, and vicious gangsters. This stemmed from the complaints lodged against some officers and many were suspended from their jobs because they failed to do the arrests according to the book.

On the other hand, the other camp argues that these gadgets slow them down because they are on camera and must bear in mind the ABCs of making arrests. They should never stand in groups or their bosses would rant and rave; they should not be caught by the CCTV security cameras behaving like maniacs when making an arrest. All told, they do not relish the idea being on camera. So like naughty boys, they stay away from these.

Are the Tapes Telling It as It Is?

According to a suspended officer, the tapes tell a different story. Some actions can be misinterpreted as police brutality because video recordings, with no audio for example, cannot record the taunting and the abusive curses coming from the troublemaker.

During the scuffle, the suspect struggles to flee prompting the arresting officer to use more force than usual. In court, what is seen is the beating of the suspect who is on his knees; the number of blows or the severity of these blows can ruin a police career. This happens because the tape only told a part of the story not the sequence of events.

Because their actions are on tape, police officers are constantly reminded to do the drill right while on duty and to protect themselves from malicious complaints. To make sure that police activities are taken from the right context, those manning the CCTV security cameras are mandated to keep an eye on the monitors.

To be on CCTV security cameras mean doing things correctly, according to local laws and polices even in the heat of pursuit of a criminal or subduing an aggressive miscreant. If they cannot do things right, at least they must appear that they are doing things correctly or risk suspension or job termination. The most affected are the new recruits who still have to gain the savvy of experienced police officers.

Still for the Best

CCTV security cameras provide protection for both sides - the police and the public. People feel confident that there are surveillance cameras in public areas; arrested suspects can request a copy of the tape to prove his innocence of a crime, or a police officer can have a copy to disprove accusations leveled against him.

The CCTV security cameras have shaken up the police force. Rogue or inept officers are warned that any abusive behavior or incorrect arresting procedures caught on camera can be grounds for dismissal from the force. You can say that these cameras police the police.

CCTV security cameras work well with closed circuit television and a CCTV system. At Video-Surveillance-Guide.com, the experts will tell you how and why these work best to record suspicious activities.

Sewing Machine - What You Should Know Before Purchasing

Saturday 18 October 2008 @ 4:37 pm

Sewing machines were invented to reduce the amount of manual work performed in the fabric industry. With the pace of technology, today, the sewing machine has evolved into its modern form.

Along with the appearance, the productivity and efficiency of the sewing machines have improved so as to meet the modern stitching requirements. The sewing machines are now designed to perform specific tasks. Some machines are intended for embroidery stitches, some have work feeder to move in curved path, some have work holder frame, and many other state-of-the-art technologies to make the functions easer for the users.

For any sewing enthusiast sewing is a fun and buying a sewing machine can be exiting. However, sewing machine can last for a lifetime with you and hence, can be considered as your largest investment among all of your sewing tools. An informed decision can be a smart step in this regard. So, you should take time to know more about sewing machines and purchase the one accordingly to save yourself from frustration. There are some basic things that you need to consider carefully while choosing the right sewing machine for you.

Before selecting a sewing machine it is really important to know the kind of stitching you want to do and make a list of features required for that. It will free you from the hassle of confusion in the store while visiting.

Features apart, it is the ease of use that is important. In the store you will find sewing machines with many advanced features. But they are barely of any use if you are not comfortable with handling them.

When you are purchasing a sewing machine you must have adequate knowledge about stitching and the machine itself. Hence, check for the availability of the basic features in it. Needle threader, bobbin, bobbin winder, needle, needle plate, thread cutter, foot or knee pedal, tension and pressure knobs, etc are the basic features of sewing machines.

But if you take a look at the features of advanced sewing machines they will include larger capacity bobbins, limited adjustment for changing stitch types, built-in button-holder, feed control adapter for darning and embroidery, free-arm access to tubular area, decorative stitches and monogramming capacity, programmable and interface with computer, light weight and portable. Apart from that there are many other features of sewing machines that are considered according to the requirements.

The next aspect that you need to judge while purchasing sewing machine is the budget. The rates of the machines are available from the low budget to most sophisticated ones. Hence, investing in a sewing machine involves careful decision about how much you are going to use it. Your expenditure should be decided accordingly. Again, if a machined is not designed according to your purpose there is no point investing in it.

Whether you are purchasing your sewing machine online or from a local dealer, you get to know the dealer before spending your money. If you are choosing a local sewing machine dealer, help on any problem is just a phone call away. They enable direct support from the manufacturer of the machines. Sometimes, the local dealers arrange classes on handling the machines and it has got many advantages. However, if you opt to purchase your sewing machine from an online dealer, make sure that they have a servicing centre nearby.

Purchasing sewing machine should not be a hasty decision anyways. Gathering information is not a difficult task with the availability of the Internet. However, you can visit the local stores for the sewing machines to know more about the different models of different companies. You can test drive the machines before taking one to your home. So, be careful while purchasing the right kind of sewing machine and make your own world of fabric and fashion.

Closed Circuit Television Systems and Spy Gadgets: Promoting Voyeuristic Tendencies?

Friday 17 October 2008 @ 11:16 pm

Before Spy Gadgets or Closed Circuit Television Systems

The old fashioned Peeping Tom cases a house or hotel to spot bedrooms and bathroom to figure out where they can get the best view without being detected. They bore pin holes on walls and hide behind bushes or clamber up trees to peek on their unsuspecting victims.

They can endure uncomfortable positions for hours; no leg cramps or stiff necks can stop them from hours of peeping on women even if they faced the risk of being caught on the spot. That was before the coming of the age of closed circuit television systems.

Now it is a different story for Peeping Toms and whether you like it or not, spy gadgets makes the business of peeing easier. They can hole out in their basements or in their comfortable beds and snoop while munching on popcorns and drinking soda pop. They can watch the live video images on their wide TV screen, which is hooked up to one of those elaborate or crude closed circuit television systems.

Peeping Toms and Voyeurism

Peeping Toms come in all guises. They can be young men, men in their 40s or 50s plagued with this unnatural obsession to catch a glimpse of women in their most vulnerable - in ladies’ restrooms, bedrooms, and changing rooms. They use different strategies, from the most comical like wearing a ski mask and running around naked or to the more sinister, stalking a victim after peeping on her.

Voyeurism is a sexual disorder. Symptoms can range from an uncontrollable desire to observe women, friend or stranger, in acts of disrobing. Voyeurs will stop at nothing to watch couples in their intimate moments. This behavior can disrupt normal functioning in the end.

With spy gadgets in all shapes and forms and sophisticated closed circuit television systems sold as household items, voyeurs now have the help of technology. Since these closed circuit television systems are easy to install, there is no other person who may know of system’s existence, except of course the retailer.

How to Protect Yourself from Peeping Toms

Since the hidden cameras send the recordings to connected closed circuit television systems, discovery of this ugly past time is not immediate. The video recording is not broadcast to a network like your regular “Ugly Betty” or “Dancing with the Stars TV” episodes, only the voyeur is aware of the plot.

Don’t end up a Peeping Tom victim with these tips:

* Sweep your home with a spy camera detector.

* Before settling in hotels and motels check out light fixtures.

* In public changing rooms, always take care as if there is a secret camera somewhere.

* In the workplace, check the smoke detection device in the restroom.

* Unexplainable duct tapes on walls should be suspected for the presence of a pinhole camera.

If you discover the spy cameras, you can be sure that these are hooked to some closed circuit television systems somewhere out there. Report the matter to the police immediately and stop the Peeping Toms from victimizing more women.

Learn creative uses for closed circuit television systems, CCTV security, and the CCTV camera. With information from Video-Surveillance-Guide.com, you can find better ways to use these gadgets for business and for pleasure.

How Does a Private Investigator Locate People?

Friday 17 October 2008 @ 7:58 pm

Skip Tracing- Locating Missing Person

As a private investigator your will inevitably be asked to perform a locate or people search . A failed locate will require a skip trace investigation.

What is a locate?

A simple locate is when a person is trying to find another person. Your client may be a lawyer trying to locate a witness. It could be a woman trying to locate a college room mate. A parent trying to locate an estranged adult son or daughter.

There are a few basic steps to performing a simple locate or people search.

First gather all of the information on the subject of the locate.

Full name, date of birth, social security number, previous address.

With this information you should be able to run a simple database search of credit headers and find a current address and phone number. This is true for about 90% of all simple locates. If it fails you will need to perform a skip trace.

What is a Skip Trace?

A skip trace is when you are trying to locate a person that does not want to be located. A dead beat parent, a bail jumper, a recluse. These type of people are not very interested in updating their credit header information. In fact they may be actively trying to distort their credit header information.

This investigation will require much more time and effort than a simple locate but if you prepare it can become routine and simple.

First you will need to perform a thorough database search that includes previous addresses, names of relatives and neighbors. You take that raw data and start calling. You should start with a well rehearsed pretext script when contacting former neighbors, employers and relatives.

You can also contact the United States Postal Service to see if the skip has left any forwarding addresses. You should have preprinted post cards that have the text “do not forward, address correction requested”. You mail these to the subject at all his previous addresses to see what the United States Postal Service can provide you.

You should also have one of your trap line phone numbers on the card so that if by chance the postcard gets into the hand of the skip and he calls the trap line you can locate him that way.

You should also pull out your Rolodex of sources. The tipsters and inside informants you have cultivated over the years that have access utility company records.

Many times an investigator will be working on a complicated case and in the course of that investigation several locates and skip traces become necessary. Instead of becoming distracted he will outsource that part of the investigation to another investigator that is all set up to routinely perform those services. These investigators are often called information brokers because they routinely provide this service to other investigators.

When you are just starting out as an investigator it is crucial for you to establish a good working relationship with information brokers.

Ed Opperman is President of Opperman Investigations Inc. He is an experienced skiptracer and his webiste http://www.emailrevealer.com/ offers skip tracing services as well as simple locates.

What to do if Your Employer Does Not Provide Health Coverage

Friday 17 October 2008 @ 6:05 pm

It is painful to not have medical insurance because you know that you are not going to be able to afford the healthcare you need if you become sick or injured. That means you are probably sitting around all of the time hoping you don’t get sick or you don’t break something. In the end, you’re probably going to acquire an ulcer from all of the worrying and then you won’t be able to get that treated either. What if your worries run you into a condition such as hypertension or you have a heart attack someday? What if the reason why you don’t have health insurance is because your employer doesn’t offer it or you are in the middle of a lengthy waiting period? If that’s the case, then there’s good news.

Supplemental health insurance can help you when you don’t have medical insurance to take care of your health needs. Basically, supplemental health insurance pays you a cash benefit if a qualifying event or condition occurs. What it covers depends on the plan that you choose, but what it does is give you coverage where you may not have any otherwise.

Examples

You read above where a person may not have medical insurance through their employer or they have to endure a waiting period before they are covered. There are other instances in which supplemental insurance comes in handy:

• When Canadian residents visit the United States, they frequently get what is called visitors health insurance. What this does is it covers them while they are visiting the United States and protects them from the high medical costs in the case of an illness or accident. There have been individuals in the past who have visited the U.S. and been in a car wreck or came down ill. When taken to the hospital, they find that the healthcare offered by the Canadian government does not cover treatment within the United States. What happens is that person is slapped with a large medical bill that can be thousands of dollars. With supplemental health insurance such as visitors health insurance, this doesn’t happen.

• People travel quite often, but the insurance in their home country will not cover them in another country. That is when they purchase travel health insurance. That means they’re going to be covered in the countries that they visit and not be stuck with huge medical bills in case they need medical treatment. It works the same as visitors health insurance. The only difference is that travel health insurance is for the length of time in which the individual is traveling abroad.

From these two instances alone, it is easy to see how these two types of supplemental health insurance really come in handy. You would be amazed how many Canadians refuse to visit the United States without acquiring visitors health insurance first. The urgency is probably great than those who actually seek out travel health insurance, although travel health insurance is becoming more prevalent amongst travelers because they realize the scope of not having medical insurance while traveling.

A wise choice

So now you can see that supplemental health insurance is certainly a wise choice. It even acts as a supplement to any existing insurance that you may have. If your regular medical insurance does not cover a specific item, then you can choose a supplemental plan that does. That way you know that you are covered in one way or another when you are receiving medical treatment. That also means that you can relax a little bit and not worry yourself until you’re sick.

Travel Insurance Broker offers travel and medical health insurance Canada, Canadian expatriates or visitors to Canada. If you are looking for Canadian travel insurance or medical insurance, consider Dan Pucher Insurance.

Treasure Hunting Geocaches in Random Trite Events

Friday 17 October 2008 @ 5:53 pm

Your garbage disposal goes on the blink; the balls your neighbor’s dog plays with keep landing in your backyard; you’re kissed by your aunt and reek of her perfume; a bird crashes into your office window; and someone has dumped a box of erasers on your front lawn.

These randomly occurring trivial incidents intrude upon our lives relentlessly. We can’t escape them. We don’t even pick them. They pick us, then trap us in a web of the commonest, most boring stuff that ever existed.

Most of them are so dull, irksome and obnoxious we consider them a total waste of our time and energy. They interfere with our plans. They irritate and distract us.

They can even plunge us into foul moods.

And yet…many of these common ordinary events that happen to us daily are bristling with jaw-dropping surprises! Looked at in the right way, they can be helpful, supportive, compassionate and even wise.

Treated as geocaches, they could make any day superb!

The word “geocaching” refers to GEO – physical and human landscapes on earth – and to CACHING, the process of hiding and finding treasure in human landscapes.

Since May 3, 2000, when David Ulmer placed the first cache near Portland, Oregon, hundreds of thousands of geocachers have been hunting down more than a million geocaches. These are registered on various websites online, and are placed in over 100 countries around the world on all seven continents.

Normally, using multi-million dollar satellites via a hand-held GPS unit, geocachers look for hidden stashes on remote hiking trails, dense forests and even within urban city centers. The rewards? Ostensibly dollar-store trinkets. However, every geocacher fan knows there’s more. The excitement of the chase, the meeting of difficult challenges, visiting new places, learning new things.

However, there’s a new game in which random daily events are becoming the latest geocacher’s paradise. Similar to a scavenger hunt and because of its broad gamut of personal rewards, this new sport is becoming a wholesome pastime for individuals of all ages, as well as for their families, friends, classes and work teams. It’s all about discovering many trite daily events do contain caches of considerable personal value. Treasure that’s personally relevant treasure. Treasure that’s real treasure, so artfully hidden it takes cleverness and persistence to hunt it down.

With no monetary expense, and using sharp perception instead of a GPS unit, you also, as treasure hunter, can learn to spot trite daily happenings that are geocaches and claim their rewards hiding in plain sight.

The challenge of the game is to encourage your mind to get off its beaten path and shift to experience a new dimension in which these puzzle caches can be identified and opened.

Geocaching with trivial daily events is finding secret treasures hidden within them. And this is done by decrypting the drama the randomly occurring insignificant event is portraying. You decode the gesture of the mini-drama so it speaks to your personal goals.

This is a highly enjoyable game that can be played alone or with friends and family through the maze of daily life. It’s a simple, easy way to enjoy your everyday world becoming an exotic new environment, hauntingly compassionate, arty and entertaining.

The game can be played on three levels.

Level 1: You can play this game merely for fun, for mystery, as a new source of entertainment, and for jaw-dropping surprises.

Level 2: You can play this game for moral and emotional support, to improve your moods and your love of life, and for more joy. You can play this game for practical tips for greater success in your job or relationships, for direction and self-guidance.

Level 3: You can even play it to bolster your faith in life, for purpose and meaning, and as a catapult into other dimensions of reality, sacred or exotic.

The method is the same for all three levels. Only your intention is different.

So when you perceive a trite event as a geocache, it becomes a geoCOACH that can even give you personal advice! Or highly personalized information and advice you can’t get in any other way. Or moral and emotional support (imagine!) Or a new avenue of thought regarding a particular problem you might have. Or clues to long-forgotten talents or never-before discovered parts of yourself. Or new spaces and dimensions of experience, some of these numinous and sacred and mystical – others exotic, humorous, helpful and fun. And much, much more.

How to Make Christian Friends

Friday 17 October 2008 @ 1:43 pm

Once you become a Christian, it is important to fellowship with other believers that will help you grow in your faith and support your spiritual journey. This may be easier said than done if you had been hanging out with a crowd of folks that don’t understand your new conversion. And what if you’re single? You will probably want to find other Christian singles to date to ensure that you spend time with people who share your faith and values. You can meet other Christians in your church or you can go online to meet folks the way the rest of the world does today. There are plenty of great resources that provide a vehicle for Christians to get together to chat, share interests and develop friendships.

Christian Dating Sites

If you are a Christian single looking to meet others for a dating relationship, there are many Christian dating sites to help you find Mr. or Miss Right. There are websites across the globe specifically dedicated to Christians so you can find a person of your faith no matter where you live. If you decide to join a Christian dating website, it is a good idea to read reviews first to find the hot spots that most singles are flocking to. This is especially true in light of the fact that many of these sites charge a fee to join, and you want to get the biggest bang for your networking buck. Look for websites that include chat rooms and message boards that allow you a convenient way to communicate with other Christian singles.

MySpace Websites

To keep up with the networking trends in the secular world, Christian social sites like MySpace are cropping up around cyberspace. You can also find Christian blogs that allow you to go online and chat with others that share your ideas about faith, values and world views. Create your own MySpace profile as a way to communicate with your current friends and form new relationships. Just keep in mind that the information that goes out on these websites is available for the whole world to see. With this in mind, you might want to look into putting some blocks on your site and hiding key information that you don’t want the global community to know.

Friendly Websites

Another new trend in learning how to make Christian friends online is a friendly website that is comparable to a dating service, but with friendship instead of romance in mind. These social networks are designed to help you meet people from all walks of life that you share common interests with. The sites are becoming popular in the Christian and the secular community, so it should be easy to find one that will meet your needs.

When you are a Christian, having friends who share your faith and values is an important component of your spiritual walk. By checking out some of these networking sites devoted to Christians, you can find friends and maybe even a new romantic interest to share your love of God.

Nathan Martyn is webmaster of Christian Wallpaper, a site dedicated to religious desktop backgrounds and wallpaper.
